Military Race Night at the Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville will be moved up one weekend from September 7 to August 31, the track announced Wednesday (August 15).

The move comes in order to avoid a conflict with the Tennessee State Fair, running from September 6-15.

“To be the best neighbors to the State Fair, we have decided to move the race weekend one week prior to August 31,” said Claire Formosa, Chief Operating Officer at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville.

“We apologize to our fans and our racers for the short notice, but we will make this the best Military Race Night. Military men and women with a valid military I.D. will be granted free admission to the event.

“We were approached by the executive director of the fairgrounds about the schedule conflict. Since the State Fair has been the same weekend for many years, it would only be right to work together and continue to build our working relationship together.”
